Evidence-led joint pain relief from a Centre of Excellence

Joint pain can quietly take over your day, from the stairs and the dog walk to the sport you love. At Reach Physiotherapy we offer hyaluronic acid injections as a non-surgical way to ease pain and help you move with more confidence. We are proud to be a certified Joint Pain Freedom Centre of Excellence, which means we follow clear clinical standards for training, product sourcing and safe delivery.

Every treatment plan starts with a proper assessment, and an injection is only ever one part of it. For many people it works best alongside physiotherapy and a rehab plan built around their goals.

What is hyaluronic acid and how does it help?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural, gel-like substance found in the fluid that surrounds your joints. It lubricates the joint and absorbs shock. With age or osteoarthritis the quality of this fluid can decline, which can leave joints feeling stiff, sore and swollen.

A hyaluronic acid injection tops up that natural lubrication. The aim is smoother, more comfortable movement and, over time, less reliance on pain relief.

Hyaluronic acid injections are commonly considered if you have:

They may also suit you if you want to stay active, put off or avoid surgery, or rely less on pain medication.

Where it helps, we can also recommend compression and bracing for pain, swelling or instability, and cryo compression therapy to calm pain and swelling. Your physiotherapist will only suggest what is right for you.

Expect

What to expect

Assessment: We review your symptoms, medical history and how the joint is moving, then confirm whether an injection is suitable.

The injection: Your practitioner, [name], delivers the treatment into the joint using a sterile technique. The injection itself takes only a few minutes.

Aftercare: You can usually carry on with everyday activities straight away. We may advise avoiding high-impact activity for a day or two, and we will give you exercises to help you get the most from your treatment.
